EVENT Hotels Solidifies its Expansion with Senior Board Hire
In line with its growth strategy, EVENT Hotels has hired former Blackstone MD to join its senior ranks. Gabriel Petersen will join EVENT Hotels as Managing Director and Member of the Executive Board. Mr Petersen has spent the last 25 years in the hospitality and hotel real estate industry – overseeing Blackstone Real Estate hotel portfolio in Europe during the last decade. Mr Petersen studied Economics and has an MSc in Real Estate.
Since it was founded in 1993, EVENT Hotels has had ownership stakes and full management responsibilities for a wide range of hotels across several European countries. Today, EVENT Hotels’ Pan-European platform consists of 80 hotels (close to 15,000 rooms) and generates in excess of half a billion euros in revenues.
Event’s fully integrated management platform has over 250 hotel experts based in its corporate offices in Germany, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Liechtenstein in addition to over 4,330 hotel staff. A new EVENT London office will be opening in Spring 2019.
EVENT’s management platform uses expert teams covering all areas of hotel real estate asset management and hotel day-to-day operations including an in-house construction department that has delivered more than 400 million euros of hotel refurbishment projects; its own front office system and a company owned fully integrated reservation system; with its own booking portal accompanied with a modern and flexible IT structure.
