By Popular Demand, St. Regis Hotel in Washington, D.C. Expands Their In-Suite Offering of Plum Wine-On-Demand

The award-winning capital hotel almost doubles its initial installation of in-room, self-serve wine by the glass technology from Plum to drive F&B revenue, reduce operational demand and modernize the guest experience

Plum, the first wine by the glass technology revolutionizing the hospitality industry, today announced that the St. Regis Hotel in Washington, D.C. has close to doubled the initial implementation of their wine-on-demand amenity to include Plum in their Grand Deluxe room category.

“The positive feedback we’ve received from guests since we first introduced Plum has been amazing,” explains Felix Schaller, Director of Operations at the St. Regis Washington, D.C. “From being able to customize our wine program, to the increased revenue capture and the significantly lower demand on our staff, Plum has truly impressed us. Along with the many benefits, we’ve decided to expand our initial order to add the innovative in-room beverage technology to more rooms because we are committed to continually finding new ways to serve and delight our guests.”

As the Nespresso for wine lovers, Plum serves up an optimally chilled glass of wine guests can enjoy in the comfort of their room. Plum’s technology allows F&B managers to personalize their wine program to suit the desires of their VIP guests, displays wine and winery information on a 7-inch screen, and automatically tracks and bills. It also alerts housekeeping when a replacement bottle is required so guests never have to lift a finger, except to touch the screen when they’d like another glass. Unlike mini-bars, Plum is easy to install, low maintenance and looks modern, sleek and unique. The self-service revenue model drives GoPar (Growth Operating Profit per Available Room) in addition to increasing top line sales.

Just two blocks from the White House and minutes from the capital’s most significant sights, and voted one of the best hotels in the U.S., the award-winning St. Regis Hotel is the city’s premier host to presidents, worldwide dignitaries, and royalty. The hotel features glamorous suites, adorned with contemporary amenities, butler service, and use of a complimentary house car. Guest can also enjoy afternoon tea service, have a cocktail at the St. Regis Bar and savor European classics at Alhambra Restaurant.

“We’re thrilled the St. Regis has expanded our partnership,” says David Koretz, CEO of Plum. “It is a testament to how powerful Plum is in elevating the in-room experience, driving revenue opportunities and making the job of the F&B team easier.  Hotels today are looking to find better in-room beverage options to appeal to guests, and our clients have experienced 20x capture rates with Plum over minibars. We look forward to helping St. Regis to exceed guest expectations for many years to come.”

In addition to the St. Regis, Plum has partnerships with leading independent hotels and chains, like the Four Seasons, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, Sheraton, Westin, Auberge, Gemstone Collection, Woodside and Rosewood flags.
